The Evolution of Self-Portraits. This historical photograph was the world’s first self-portrait, taken in 1939 in the back of a business in Philadelphia. Instead of that instant ‘selfies’ taken today, Robert Cornelius (Man in Picture) sat for over a minute. The restrictions on these online apps filter your thinking because of the limited functions on the apps. For Example, You can only Like and Comment on this photo, No dislike; it forces you to think what ‘selfie’ can I post to get likes like her. “for better or worse, we don’t just look at the world on screen, its how we look at life “( Mizoeff 151) The blurry the line between what is seen on screen and how be choose to live our lives
